Lake Thom-A-Lex Park
700 Yokley Rd, Lexington, NC 27292
If you head away from Winston-Salem, down a few country roads towards Lexington, and your GPS is working (ours led us to someone's house instead), you can find Lake Thom-A-Lex Park in Lexington.
We were pleasantly surprised to find a beautiful lake, with a pier, and tons of birds eager to say hello.
Not pictured is a pretty big playground with a few slides, rock climbing wall, and more.
There are also picnic shelters were some families were having lunch.
If you walk past the playground and the picnic tables, you will find a newly made dirt walking path that leads through the woods.
As I walked through the path with Arlo and Weston, I felt like we had been transported out of our daily grind and into a mini vacation world. It is so peaceful on that trail.
If you want to have your lifestyle family photoshoot here, I highly recommend booking during the golden hour (sunset). Can you just imagine what family photos near the lake as the sky is turning all sorts of beautiful colors? Oh my!
Bring a few bread crumbs to feed the birds and not much is needed after that!
